Refund & Return Policy

1. Overview
SeekConnect is a peer-to-peer marketplace connecting individual buyers and sellers. Each seller sets their own refund policy when making an offer. Refund and return policies are determined by the seller, not by SeekConnect.
2. Seller Refund Policy Options
When submitting an offer, sellers must choose one of the following refund policies:
✅ Refunds Accepted
The buyer may return the item if it's not as described, damaged, or defective. Specific return conditions should be discussed between buyer and seller.
❌ No Refunds (All Sales Final)
The sale is final. The buyer cannot return the item for any reason. Buyer assumes all risk.
3. Buyer Responsibilities
Before completing a purchase, buyers must:
- Review the seller's chosen refund policy (displayed clearly on the offer)
- Ask the seller any questions about the item or return policy
- Understand that "No Refunds" means no returns are accepted
- Inspect item descriptions and photos carefully
- Communicate with sellers about any concerns before purchasing
By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and accept the seller's refund policy.
4. Return Process (When Refunds Are Accepted)
If a seller has chosen "Refunds Accepted," the following general process applies:
4.1 Valid Return Reasons
- Item not as described
- Item arrived damaged or defective
- Wrong item shipped
- Other issues as agreed with seller
4.2 Return Steps
- Contact seller immediately through our messaging system
- Provide evidence (photos, description of issue)
- Negotiate resolution with seller (refund, replacement, partial refund)
- Return item if seller requests (buyer typically pays return shipping unless item defective)
- Refund issued once seller confirms receipt
4.3 Return Timeframe
Returns must be initiated within a reasonable time after delivery (typically 3-7 days). Specific timeframes should be agreed upon between buyer and seller.
5. Refund Methods
Refunds are processed through the original payment method (Stripe). Processing time is typically 5-10 business days after the seller initiates the refund. SeekConnect does not process refunds directly - sellers must initiate refunds through their payment dashboard or by contacting support.
6. Return Shipping Costs
Unless the item is defective or not as described:
- Buyer's remorse: Buyer pays return shipping (if seller accepts returns)
- Defective/wrong item: Seller pays return shipping
- Damaged in transit: File claim with shipping carrier
7. Dispute Resolution
If buyer and seller cannot reach an agreement:
- Attempt to resolve directly through our messaging system
- Contact SeekConnect support for mediation assistance
- If payment was made via credit card, buyer may contact their card issuer for dispute/chargeback
- For legal disputes, refer to arbitration clause in Terms of Service
Note: SeekConnect acts as a mediator but cannot force refunds or returns.
8. Fraudulent Claims
False refund claims or abuse of return policies may result in:
- Account suspension or termination
- Loss of buyer/seller privileges
- Legal action in cases of fraud
9. Platform Liability
IMPORTANT: SeekConnect is not responsible for:
- Enforcing seller refund policies
- Processing refunds (handled by sellers/payment processor)
- Mediating disputes (we can assist, but not guarantee resolution)
- Return shipping costs
- Quality, accuracy, or condition of items
Users engage in transactions at their own risk. Review seller policies carefully before purchasing.
10. Seller Best Practices
To minimize disputes, sellers should:
- Provide accurate, detailed item descriptions
- Include clear, honest photos from multiple angles
- Disclose any defects, damage, or wear
- Respond promptly to buyer questions
- Package items securely
- Keep records of transactions and communications
